EXCELLENT PUPPY TRAINING PROGRAM
The importance of training a puppy properly cannot be over emphasized. When the puppy is
properly trained you will have a well adjusted, social dog that will be a member of the family and will be your friend and your body guard. If done improperly you will have a lot of problems.
Seven Rules In Puppy Training
There are seven basic rules in training a puppy. I am sure we could find more but if you follow these seven rules the puppy will grow into a happy and well adjusted adult dog.
RULE ONE: Set up a Routine
It is good for everyone to have a routine and a regular time to take walks, be let out, be fed, all the things the puppy need should be supplied on a routine basis.
RULE TWO: Be Consistent
Don't send mixed signs, allowing one type of behavior one minute and deneying it the next.
RULE THREE: No Fear
When puppies are young there natural instint is to run and hide. Dogs to not learn when they are in this state they want to run away. Never train you dog through fear.
RULW FOUR: Communicate
Tell your dog what you want, praise him when he gives it to you and tell him he is doing wrong when he doesn't do what you want. Communicate and the dog will respond
RULE FIVE: Self Control
If you don't control yourself how can you expect to control the dog?
RULE SIX: Repetition
Dogs like people learn by practice. The more time you spend with your dog and the more practice the dog gets doing what you want , the more the dog will do what you want.
RULE SEVEN: Reward
Dogs understand reward be it verbal praise, physical touching, toys to play with and especially food and treats.
